In the May issue of Marie Claire, Zooey Deschanel talks about how she’s focusing on work and leaving the child-rearing to her sister, Emily (Dr. Temperance Brennen). As all good Bones fans know, Emily Deschanel and her husband Henry Hornsby welcomed Baby Henry in September.

When it comes to parenting, the actress/singer says “That’s never been my focus…My sister [Emily] was always very motherly, babysitting and stuff. I like kids, and I like being around kids –- but it was never an ambition, something, like, I need…I like working.”

While we appreciate Zooey knowing her limits, we still think it shows a ton of devotion as an auntie that she couldn’t resist passing around photos of her adorbs nephew Henry while she was on the cover shoot set. As far as Emily’s reported mothering instincts – call it method acting if you want, but we always knew that she’d be a natural!
