Inspiring 10-Year-Old Pushes His Disabled Brother in a 5K (VIDEO)

It takes many of us until adulthood to grasp the true spirit of giving but, but at only ten years old, little Tobias of Edmond, Oklahoma, seems to have the whole thing down pat. He recently approached Oklahoma's News 9 with a simple request that someone lend him a jogger so he can run his first 5K while pushing his older brother Titus, who has been stricken with Cerebral Palsy.

Titus can’t walk, hear, or eat food, and in an interview with the news station, Tobias gets emotional as he talks about how his brother cries as he looks out the window at other children playing outside.

While his mom said it wasn’t appropriate for him to write the news station, Tobias wouldn’t be stopped, and his letter struck a chord with anchors Kelly Ogle and Amanda Taylor.

“We have to be God’s hands and feet but I’m gonna be his legs, too,” the letter read. Tobias went on to say he wants to one day run an Ironman with his brother, even offering up his services for other parents who have disabled children. “I can be the legs of more than one kid,” he wrote.

While this might seem to be a bit of a stretch for a kid his age, News 9 points out that this is no ordinary boy. Tobias wants to be a military pastor when he grows up so he can minister to those dying on the front lines. He’s also been known to write encouraging notes to his single mom, who works hard to care for the boys. To boot, Tobias brings home good grades and sports trophies.

Fortunately for Tobias, he got his wish, and then some. Oklahoma Able Tech donated a jogger stroller for the cause, and it’s one he doesn’t have to return. Cue the salty tears!

When asked about his first race, Tobias said, “I’m just gonna believe in God and let him take over ... It’s not all about me. I’s about Titus and love.”

Good luck, Tobias and Titus!
