Julianne Hough’s New Boyfriend Brooks Laich Spills on Their Romance
Well, the cat’s out of the bag. Julianne Hough does have a new man in her life and it’s that hunky hockey player she was spotted holding hands with over Valentine’s Day weekend.
Brooks Laich spilled the beans during a February 19 interview with Washington, D.C., radio station 106.7 The Fan. The 6-foot-2 Canadian native plays for the Washington Capitals and says he met the Hollywood starlet through a mutual friend: American Horror Storyactor Teddy Sears.
Teddy and Julianne worked together on upcoming movie Curve where he sang Brooks praises. “On set, apparently, he was talking with Julianne … and asked her if she’d been seeing anyone, and she said no or whatever, and I guess he was watching our hockey game at the time,” Brooks explained.
The stars aligned with Teddy pointing to the game and supposedly telling Julianne “Well, I’ve got a guy for you.” Teddy officially introduced the two back in December (three months, mind you, before Julianne would have hit that one year mark of singlehood she talked up in a recent interview).
They’ve been going strong ever since despite the fact neither celebrity knew much about one another at the start. Brooks says he’d “never seen an episode” of Dancing With The Stars before he started dating one of the show’s most famous faces, while she’d “never seen a Caps game.”
“I don’t want to go into a whole lot of it,” Brooks continued. “I’m kind of shy on my personal life. But she’s a cool, cool gal. She’s just a sweetheart, very loving, very giving. She puts so much great out into the world. I’m a pretty lucky guy.”
