‘Veronica Mars’ Star Brad Bufanda Dead by Suicide at Just 34

Brad Bufanda has died by suicide aged just 34.

The Veronica Mars actor was found in the early hours of Wednesday morning, November 1st, after taking his own life in Los Angeles.

Kirsten Solem, his manager, said in a statement, "We are completely devastated for he was an extremely talented young actor and wonderful, caring human being.

"He was reviving his career having just completed two movies and we are shocked and saddened by his passing.

"The family would appreciate privacy at this difficult time."

Lt. David Smith of the Los Angeles County coroner’s office told Variety magazine that Brad had died after suffering traumatic injuries as a result of jumping off a building. 

The actor, who also starred in Malcolm in the Middle, left a suicide note which is believed to have mentioned his parents along with a "thank you" to people in his life.

Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas posted his condolences on Twitter, writing, "I'm heartbroken to hear of Brad Bufanda's passing.

"He did great work on Veronica Mars. My heart goes out to his family."

The 34-year-old played Felix Toombs in the first two seasons of Veronica Mars alongside actress Kristen Bell as well as starring with Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray in the movie A Cinderella Story.

Brad was also a professional basketball player but had to give that up after sustaining an injury.

The star's Instagram page has been inactive since 2012, but even then he posted pictures of himself looking worryingly thin.

In one, which he wrote "Too thin for #Hollywood" on, he captioned it, "...and I'm gonna get skinnier too.....like the machinist.....I wanna play a cancer patient or something similar so I can connect w the families who are dealing w health issues like my family [sic]."

In another, he posted pictures of royalty checks he received for previous work, one for just $1.62.

Another check from Warner Bros. Pictures for just $38.91 is also seen in the image, which Brad captioned, "What u know about #Royalties #Residuals #Mail #FuccHollywood [sic]."
