Breaking Bad Star Lands A New Show — Where’s He Headed?

It’s been less than a week since Walter White and his blue meth left our lives forever (well, until we can buy Breaking Bad Season 5 on DVD) and already we’re hearing one of the show’s stars has landed himself a new gig.

The lucky kid is RJ Mitte, aka Walter White, Jr. aka Flynn. According to The Hollywood Reporter, RJ’s joining the crew over on ABC Family’s Switched At Birth. The drama may not be of the same meth-slinging variety as Breaking Bad but that hardly means RJ won’t employ the dramatic skills he crafted after five seasons in the house of Heisenberg.

RJ will star as Campbell, “a pre-med college student paralyzed by a snowboarding accident” who will work alongside Daphne (Katie Leclerc) at the free clinic. Do we see romance on the horizon? Let’s hope so. Walt, Jr./Flynn never did seem to strike it lucky in that category. Or, you know, really in any category.

Although RJ, who celebrated his 21st birthday in Vegas this summer, has a mild form of cerebral palsy, he doesn’t typically walk with the crutches Flynn did during Breaking Bad or the wheelchair it sounds like his new character may have. But just what, exactly, will his new character be like? Guess we’ll have to tune in when Switched At Birth returns in January 2014.
