More Saturday Night Live Cast Changes Announced — Who Got Cut? (VIDEO)

Update (July 15, 2014):

More SNL cast members have gotten the cut, according to Deadline. Noël Wells and John Milhiser have not had their contracts renewed. The fate of Michael Patrick O'Brien isn't as clear, the outlet adds. He may continue on the writing staff, where he served for four years before making the leap to featured player.

Of the non-first year cast, Nasim Pedrad is leaving after five seasons. We'll for sure miss her Kim Kardashian voice!

Original story (July 14, 2014):

Saturday Night Live has officially let one of its funny guys go.

Brooks Wheelan, a cast member who joined the super popular late-night sketch show before season 39 premiered, announced he had been let go in the only way a comedian could.

"Had a blast and loved every second of it. I'm totally honored to be able to make this next joke...FIRED FROM NEW YORK IT'S SATURDAY NIGHT!" he tweeted.

A source from NBC confirmed Brooks was being let go to E! News — however, the source also stressed that these cast shake-ups are completely normal and happen all the time.

As of now, there's no word on if the studio has tapped any replacements for Brooks.

SNL is still going strong heading into its 40th season. Kate McKinnon was recently nominated for Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, Chris Kelly, Sarah Schneider and Eli Brueggemann were also nominated for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for the hit "(Do It On My) Twin Bed."

What do you think about SNL firing Brooks Wheelan from the show? Are you sad to see him go, or do you think the studio made the right decision. Let us know what you think about this cast shake-up in the comments below!
