Is Bruce Jenner Suffering From Body Dysmorphic Disorder?

Bruce Jenner’s love affair with plastic surgery may be one for the ages, but are his countless trips under the knife indicative of a more serious condition? The former Olympian, who recently trimmed down his trachea with a laryngeal shave, may be suffering from more than vanity, according to experts.

“Bruce Jenner seems really unhappy with the physical cards he’s been dealt,” Dr. Gilda Carle reveals to “BDD is imagined ugliness. Obviously, if Bruce is that unhappy with his body this may be an apt diagnosis.”

While Bruce’s obsession with altering his looks may be the marker of a psychological condition, knowing that won’t keep the star from taking another trip under the knife in the near future.

“Bruce is definitely concerned with his looks and always has been,” reveals a friend of the 64-year-old star. “The show made him more hyper-aware. Certain angles make him look like he has ‘man boobs.’ He knows that and he hates it.”

Despite Bruce’s regular trips to the surgeon, his family isn’t sweating Bruce’s ever-changing appearance. While Kris Jenner laughed off rumors that Bruce is planning to undergo gender reassignment surgery, his kids say they’ll support him regardless of what he chooses to do.

“He’s always been a handsome guy, and he never needed to do anything. But you know, clearly he feels differently,” says his daughter, Cassandra. “And nobody knows how it is to be in his skin. If that’s what he chooses to do, then I support him.”
