Bruno Mars Tapped For American Idol 2014 Judges? Is This a Good Idea?
As most fans of the show are aware, American Idol ratings this year were absolutely abysmal. So it’s no surprise that producers are scrambling to find just the right mix of judges to hopefully stir up a larger audience for American Idol 2014. But we have to ask, is Bruno Mars really the right pick for the job?
Rumors about who will end up on the American Idol judges panel for Season 13 have been all over the map. Everyone from former judge Jennifer Lopez to P!nk to American Idol alums Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Adam Lambert have had their names thrown into the gossip pot.
We know that veteran Randy Jackson is officially out. Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj are most likely not returning. Keith Urban would love to stay, but so far producers haven’t offered him a spot. So who will end up behind the judges table for American Idol 2014? Information is still sketchy, but we have heard Kelly Clarkson is totally not interested and Adam Lambert has not been invited.
The only rumored judge who really does look like a strong definite at this point is former American Idol finalist Jennifer Hudson, who is reportedly actually in talks to come on board for Season 13. Her supposedly most likely co-judge at this point? Well, the latest reports say it may very well be crooner Bruno Mars.
“He’s super talented, amazingly charismatic, and well-liked by industry professionals and young fans. [Producers] are looking into making him an offer very soon,” a source reportedly says, according to Perez Hilton.
We don’t deny Bruno Mars has a certain appeal, but somehow we are just not seeing him bringing a crazy mass of fans to American Idol 2014. In fact, the whole idea of Bruno Mars as a judge just seems kind of, well... boring. Jennifer Hudson, we can see the appeal. Bruno Mars and Jennifer Hudson together? We can already feel our fingers hovering over the channel change button...
