Bryshere “Yazz” Gray Totally Failed At Cutting a Line at a Nightclub (VIDEO)
Bryshere "Yazz" Gray may be a rising star thanks to his breakout role as Hakeem Lyon on Empire, but that does not mean he is entitled to cutting lengthy lines at nightclubs.
Yazz spotted a queue of at least 35 people on Memphis’ famous Beale Street this past Saturday night and was not about to get to the end of it — he is on America’s top television show, after all. But security at the club wasn’t interested in his fame one bit, and bouncers quickly shut down his attempt at jumping the huge line.
A video on TMZ shows a burly security guard getting in a small physical altercation with Yazz where he pushes him backwards and away from the club’s entrance. The actor was pretty quick to acquiesce, so luckily the confrontation didn’t escalate. Despite the very public humiliation, Hakeem’s alter-ego still seemed to be smiling... But that was probably because he still left with two lucky girls and even had his arm around one.
We doubt things would’ve gone so smoothly if Cookie was there!
Thankfully, the Empire actor came back strong the next day with a blowout performance at the Teen Choice Awards. Yazz and his co-star Jussie Smollett performed the song “You’re So Beautiful” from the show. Although the pair did an amazing job, co-star Gabourey Sidibe truly shut down the show with an amazing surprise dance number. You need to see the video below.
