Here’s the thing: we really want to trust Officer Holbrook. He seems so nice, and Hanna could use a bit of nice right about now. Maybe you haven’t noticed, but she’s had kind of a rough season so far. She’s due for a break. And we think Officer Holbrook might just be that break. So far, we’ve seen no evidence that Hanna shouldn’t trust him. Sure, he arrested her mom, but to be fair, Ashley Marin seemed pretty guilty. Other than that, he’s just been trying to do his job. And, according to this sneak peek for tonight’s episode, apologize to Hanna for messing up the Marin household (both figuratively with the arrest of Ashley and literally when their abode was ransacked to look for evidence). There’s nothing wrong with that! Face it: Officer Holbrook might just be one of the most trustworthy characters on this show. Oh no… does that mean he’ll be the next to get murdered?
No, he has ulterior motives.
On the other hand, when has anyone ever been whom they seem on this show? That privilege is reserved for the Liars, and sometimes, even they don’t get it. (See: Spencer’s secret.) We figure Holbrook’s interest in Hanna has one of two motivations: One, he wants to earn her trust so he can find out more about Ali’s disappearance,Wilden’s connection to everything, and the “A” game in general. Or, two, he already knows about all of these things because he is somehow connected to the “A” game itself. We’re leaning towards the former because another secret “A”-Teamer just seems a little too overdone at this point, to be honest. Either way, we’re suspicious of how Holbrook and Hanna keep running into one another. Hanna’s emotionally vulnerable right now, and we don’t want the local law enforcement taking advantage of that to ferret out information about Rosewood’s many conspiracies. They should have to suffer through ignorance like us!
Do you think Hanna can trust Holbrook? Why or why not? Sound off in the comments below!
