Tyler made his dubious debut on The Originals in the most recent episode (Season 1, Episode 7: “Bloodletting”), but how long will this Vampire Diaries resident hang around New Orleans?
It’s clear that Tyler is on a suicide mission in the French Quarter. He wants to avenge his mother’s death by getting rid of Klaus once and for all, and at the end of the episode, we saw him making a deal with Marcel. So we have to wonder how long Tyler is going to hang around NOLA. With Marcel on his side, Tyler is nearly untouchable in the Quarter. Plus, Tyler knows how to make a hybrid, and this could prove valuable to Marcel, who may want to start building his own hybrid army to really show Klaus who’s boss.
Michael Trevino told TVGuide.com that his stay on The Originals is “to be determined.” He continued: “I don't know if I'll be going back and forth between both shows or not.”
But seeing how Tyler isn’t going back to Mystic Falls without Klaus’s blood on his hands, we think this hybrid will be sticking around the bayou for a little while longer. He also knows about Hayley’s family.
Not to mention that Tyler, as a character, seems better utilized on The Originals. On The Vampire Diaries, he was reduced to “douchnozzle” boyfriend, but he fits right into the power dynamics on The Originals. His thirst for Klaus’s blood only makes him more compelling because you never know what he’s going to do next. And let’s face it: Tyler is on the verge of turning into a mini-Klaus — did you see the way he ripped out Dwayne’s heart?
What do you think, Originals fans? Should Tyler stick around New Orleans, or was one crazy visit enough? Sound off in the comments!
