The destination board at the bus stop told us that it has departures to Philadelphia three times a day: 9 a.m., 5 p.m., and 11 p.m. We know it was relatively late at night, which means that the bus she took could have been the 11 p.m. to Philly. From there, she’s only a hop, skip, and a jump from Rosewood. (Though, if she doesn’t find some more cash, she’s going to have to literally hop, skip, and jump from Philly to her hometown.) We actually think this possibility is the likeliest.
Before boarding the bus, Alison took a long look at the photo she carries of the Liars together (adorable!), implying that she missed them and/or was thinking about them. Furthermore, we know that Alison is in next week’s episode, though it is a noir-inspired reality in Spencer’s head, so who knows what that means. Heading back to Rosewood seems risky — especially given what we’ve seen of Ezra’s extensive surveillance operation — but Ali is desperate. Without money, there’s only so much she can do. And, we know she’s returned to Rosewood before when the situation was dire enough to call for it.
To Meet Up With CeCe
Philadelphia wasn’t the only destination on the board. Other late-night departures included Chicago, St. Louis, and Detroit. Now, none of those locations jumped out at us as having any particular significance, but what if it’s not about where Alison is going, but who she is meeting when she gets there? We know that CeCe is also on the run, and we’ve speculated before that these two are in cahoots. After all, CeCe played the Red Coat decoy when Alison revealed herself to the Liars in Ravenswood. Do these two have a plan to meet up? It could be extremely risky given that the police want CeCe in connection with Detective Wilden’s murder, but — right now — CeCe might be the only person Alison feels she can trust.
She Doesn't Care
Of course, Alison didn’t exactly look like a girl with a plan in last night’s ep. She looked scared. If Ali was relying on that money to keep going, she might not have a plan. Perhaps, she was set to meet Shana in Philly and already had the bus ticket, but now has no real reason to visit the city. She could just be a tumbleweed in the wind, blown wherever chance takes her. Now that she doesn’t have any money, she’s going to have to get clever about getting around, which doesn’t always allow for a great deal of choice. Perhaps all Alison cares about now is staying on the move and avoiding Rosewood. Not Rosewood leaves a lot of options.
