Pretty Little Liars Burning Question: Who Gets Arrested in Season 5 Summer Finale?
The promo for the Pretty Little Liars summer finale implies that at least one of the Liars will be arrested, but there are so many to choose from! With everything the Liars have been mixed up in over the course of the show, it’s hard to determine just what and who the Rosewood P.D. is choosing to arrest. Here are our top guesses...
This season started with a grisly murder-in-self-defense when Aria accidentally killed a gun-wielding Shana in NYC. Since then, much of Aria’s story arc has been focused on both dealing with the guilt surrounding her actions and her fear of the consequences should anyone find out. But, the other shoe must drop eventually, and we think it might happen in the summer finale. We think a) the police have either finally figured out Aria’s connection to Shana’s murder, b) “A” has given the cops the evidence they need to arrest Aria, or c) Aria herself has confessed. Whatever the explanation, Aria can’t run from this forever, nor do we think she wants to.
Speaking of manslaughter, guess which other Liar just discovered she was part of one? Our girl Spencer! When Melissa admitted to Spencer via video confession that she had inadvertently buried Bethany Young alive because she thought Spencer had killed her and wanted to protect her baby sister, Spence became an accessory to murder — kind of. Either way, we think Spencer is strongly considering turning in the vid she has of Melissa confessing. Why else wouldn’t she have destroyed the tape? If she does this, the police are likely going to have a few questions for Spencer. Like how does she know she didn’t hit Bethany over the head that night if she can’t remember even leaving the sleepover?
All of the Liars
Why choose a Liar to arrest when you could arrest the whole bunch?! Let’s face it: these gals are usually getting into trouble together which means, if one of them falls, they all fall. (We’re all in this together — amirite, Alison and/or “A”?) Tanner seems to suspect them all of being involved in the murder of Bethany Young. Is she arresting them for this? Regardless of any more serious crimes the Liars may involved with, they are definitely guilty of lying to the police and obstruction of justice or whatever. Like, big time. This clever Tumblr user has analyzed the frames from the promo to determine that multiple Liars are being arrested. And we agree that it doesn’t look good for this friend-group. Er, maybe they can share a cell?
