The Vampire Diaries Burning Question: Will the Veil to the Other Side Be Lifted?
As much as we were happy to see the Amara/Silas/Tessa love triangle chaos wrapped up, we can’t help but miss the terrible threesome a tiny bit. Have we really seen the last of these Vampire Diaries antagonists? Or, will the veil to the Other Side be lifted, just as it was in the Season 4 finale? We speculate below...
The 100th episode
Word on the street is that the 100th episode will be populated with characters from seasons past. Only problem is: most of those characters are dead. TVD will probably get around this via flashback, but they could go the dropped-veil route. It’s the only other way we can think of to see some of the beloved long-dead characters we’ve been promised. (Aunt Jenna, we’re looking at you.)
Sure, right now, Bonnie seems relatively hunky-dory about this whole anchor business, but how long until the pain of acting as the bridge between this mortal coil and the Other Side becomes too much for the former witch? If Bonnie decides she’s had enough, she might seek out a way to drop the veil to the Other Side in an attempt to forgo all of the pain. After all, if there is no veil, then do the supernatural beings even have to cross over? That wasn’t a rhetorical question — we’re really not sure sometimes with this show.
Speaking of plot bunny fuzziness, we’re still a little confused on the details of Amara/Silas/Tessa’s deaths. Does this mean that Amara and Silas are trapped on the Other Side together, while Amara — who was somehow deemed a non-supernatural being — headed to regular afterlife? Yes…? If so, we’re guessing Silas is decidedly not okay with this. He loathes Amara and will never let her win. We’re not sure how much control has on the Other Side, but if Silas wants to get out of his current predicament, he will find a way. Even if it means messing up everyone else’s lives. He’s wily and immoral like that.
Do you think the veil to the Other Side will be lifted? Do you think it should be or are you bored with this particular plot device? Sound off in the comments below!
