Caroline Manzo on Leaving Real Housewives of New Jersey: I’d Be a “Hypocrite” to Stay
Caroline Manzo is no longer a Real Housewife, but, as she writes of her family in her most recent Bravo blog post, “We didn't close the book, we just turned the page.” The former Real Housewives of New Jersey star is simply moving to another potential show on the network — her pilot Manzo’d With Children.
If the pilot goes to series, Caroline “promises to give the viewers a very different look into the world of the Manzo Family.” As she states in her blog, “We are having an absolute blast filming it.”
As for how she feels about leaving RHoNJ, Caroline says it was clear that it was time.
“Going back to film another season of Housewives would only make me a hypocrite. For me, peace and integrity cannot be bought with money or fame. I practice what I preach, and as I said on the reunion, I'm done. I simply feel that my role has run its course and I have nothing more to give,” Caroline writes.
She recalls a conversation with her husband, Al, from back in 2009 when the show was just beginning. “Al made me promise him one thing. He said, ‘Just be yourself and have fun with it.’ I've always prided myself on giving you the truth of who I really am, the good, the bad, and the ugly,” she says.
Caroline did manage to get in one last passive-aggressive potshot at her co-stars, inserting a quote of hers from Instagram that said she was letting go “of all the pointless drama and the people who create it.” Direct hit!
What do you think of Caroline’s departure? Will you miss her on Real Housewives? Would you watch her new show?
