2015 CMT Awards: Carrie Underwood’s First Performance Since Giving Birth (PHOTO)
Carrie Underwood impresses us on the regular with her beauty and talent, but she was in rare form at last night’s 2015 CMT Awards. The 32-year-old took the stage to perform her latest hit “Little Toy Guns” — in addition to accepting a few trophies — and completely blew us away. After all, this was her red carpet debut since giving birth to son Isaiah Michael on February 27!
The American Idol winner showed up to the shindig in curve-hugging Thomas Wylde dress that was a huge change from the bigger gowns she’s used to wearing. Also different about her look? Carrie’s hair wasn’t as big and it’s clear this new mama wanted to show off a new look in her first post-pregnancy public appearance. It’s actually hard to believe she popped a baby out just a little over three months ago!
But let’s talk about that performance, shall we? Carrie was dazzled us with her vocals and that wind machine that deserved a round of applause. It was all pretty astounding, watch:
During one of her acceptance speeches — she snagged wins for Video of the Year, Female Video of the Year, and Collaborative Video of the Year — Carrie nearly brought us to tears when giving thanks to both the men in her life: husband Mike Fisher and little Isaiah.
“This is my first awards show since little Isaiah has been in the world,” Carrie gushed. “I’m sure he’s napping on the bus right now, but I should definitely say that he has already inspired me so much as well as has my husband, Mike.”
Congrats to Carrie on an amazing night!
