Emmy Breakout Hottie Cary Fukunaga Once Dated Which Super-Famous Actress? (VIDEO)

Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series is not known as one of the must-watch Emmy categories, but the award show's audience sat up and took notice when Cary Fukunaga won the category last night (August 26) for his work on True Detective. (He directed every episode of Season 1.)

Whether you appreciated his Swedish-Japanese looks, his dapper suit, his hipster glasses, or his immaculately crafted man-braids, there's no denying that the 37-year-old has a certain je ne sais quoi.

But what you might not have realized is that Cary has a Hollywood A-lister for an ex: Michelle Williams! He and the Cabaret actress dated briefly in 2011.

That's not the only Michelle Williams with whom Cary’s path has intersected! He also worked on Destiny's Child's "Survivor" music video. Since then, the New York University film program alum made his feature film debut with 2009's Sin Nombre and followed that up with 2011's Jane Eyre.

And now, he's an Internet meme, thanks to his sudden celebrity status.

No word on whether Michelle regrets the chance to latch on to those man-braids.

Is this Emmy winner winning your heart, too? Should Michelle be reigniting this extinguished flame? Give us your thoughts in the comments below!
