You may not know the latest actor to join Fifty Shades of Gray by name, but you may recognize his face! Veteran TV and film actor Callum Keith Rennie has joined the project as Ray Steele, the stepfather of Anastasia (Dakota Johnson), according The Hollywood Reporter.
Callum, 53, is a Canadian thespian perhaps best known for his villainous and bad-boy roles in the shows Battlestar Galactica, The X-Files, The Firm, and Californication — but he has 110 other credits on his filmography. On the silver screen, for example, he has appeared in Memento, The Butterfly Effect, and eXistenZ.
In case you thought that Arrow actor Dylan Neal had already won the part of Ana's stepfather in the eagerly-anticipated erotic adaptation, you're not mistaken — Ana has three stepfathers in the novel, as her mother (played by Zero Dark Thirty's Jennifer Ehle) has had four husbands. Dylan will play #2, and Callum will be #4.
The other members of the cast include Jamie Dornan (Once Upon a Time) as Christian, Eloise Mumford (Lone Star) as Ana's roomie Kate, Victor Rasuk (How to Make It in America) as her classmate and potential suitor, pop star Rita Ora as Christian's sister, Max Martini (Revenge) as Christian's bodyguard, Dylan Neal (Arrow) as Ana's first stepfather, and Marcia Gay Harden (Trophy Wife) as Christian's mother.
You'd think that the casting news would stop now that filming is underway, but apparently not. We'll let you know when another actor signs on the dotted line!
