Game of Thrones Casting: Sansa Runner-Up, Izzy Meikle-Small, Glad She Didn’t Get the Part
It's hard to imagine anyone other than the talented Sophie Turner tackling the difficult role of Sansa Stark on Game of Thrones, but in a slightly different version of history, actress Izzy Meikle-Small would have the role. However, the Sansa runner-up recently dished that she's not upset that she lost out on the potentially career-making role.
Why? Nudity, duh.
Izzy, who apparently made it to the final two for the role, recently told The Telegraph that while she was "a bit sad" about not landing a part on the international hit, she's "not that unhappy, because they all show a lot of flesh, don’t they?" She added, "I don’t think my parents would be happy.”
While we understand Izzy's concern (seriously, there is a lot of nudity on the show), Sansa has actually stayed fairly clothed so far, probably out of respect for Sophie Turner's young age. So we have a feeling Izzy's parents could have been convinced to warm up to the idea.
Of course, all's well that ends well, and Izzy has and a number of roles recently, including playing the young version of Charlize Theron's character in Snow White and the Huntsman. Not bad at all!
