Castle connection: Series producer, exec producer
Full name: Andrew W. Marlowe
Currently residing in: Los Angeles, California
Education: Columbia University (BA in English), University of California (MFA in Screenwriting)
Bet you didn't know … Andrew Marlowe is married to fellow Castle screenwriter Terri Miller. OK, you did, didn’t you?
Andrew W. Marlowe is the mastermind behind the Castle series, but before he was crafting showpieces for the small screen, Marlowe put himself through rigorous educational training. After acquiring his BA in English Lit from Columbia University, he went on to obtain his MFA in Screenwriting from University of California.
However, all his training wasn’t for naught. In 1992, Marlowe was granted the Nicholl Fellowship award for his script the Lehigh Pirates. Shortly after, his space-based script titled Apogee earned him $500,000. Marlowe continued to pen figuratively out-of-this world scripts, including Air Force One, End of Days and Hollow Man.
Other personal achievements for Marlowe include a flurry of unproduced scripts, including a Western which Harrison Ford was slated to star in. Currently, Marlowe writes for Castle (obvi) and has two screenplays in-the-works, Manhunt and the film adaptation of Nick Fury.
Many have also speculated that Marlowe is a possible co-writer or ghostwriter of Heat Wave, a real-life New York Times bestseller said to be written by fictional Castle character Richard Castle. Tricky, tricky!
In 1997, Marlowe met his IRL partner-in-crime in fellow screenwriter Terri Miller. Today, Marlowe and Miller work side-by-side behind-the-scenes of Castle. Collective aww!
