Castle Season 6 isn’t scheduled to kick off until Sept. 23, but it looks like we already have a title for the season’s first episode, and it’s a bit of a surprise.
According to TV Fanatic, Season 6, Episode 1 is called “Valkyrie.” Given the fact that the show’s fans have been waiting for months to find out if Beckett will formally accept Castle’s Season 5-ending marriage proposal we were expecting something a little more matrimonial for the title of the premiere ep, but overall we’re just glad to have a new tidbit of information about the upcoming season.
And, as TV Fanatic notes, “Valkyrie” is more than just the title of a truly terrible Tom Cruise movie. In Norse mythology (natch) Valkyrie is one of many female figures responsible for deciding which soldiers die in battle.
So while the title likely has little to do with that crucial unanswered question, it could be referring to Beckett’s new FBI job in D.C. Maybe she has some say over whether or not someone lives or dies?
What do you think of the title? Tell us your thoughts and theories below!
