Thanks to a new D.C. gig, Castle’s Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) will also be working with a new group of people entirely outside of the 12th Precinct come Season 6. Our girl is employed by the federal government now, and with a high-profile job like that comes a new mentor.

Beckett’s mentor at the FBI is Rachel McCord, a new character this season played by House’s Lisa Edelstein. While we’re very eager for Beckett to explore life outside of New York City, Lisa tells TV Guide that her character — who will be around for three episodes — could jeopardize Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett’s future.

“McCord becomes a mentor to Beckett and doesn't quite understand why Castle is hanging around," Lisa says. "What McCord's done with her life is really inspiring and tempting to Beckett, but it is also threatening to the way of life Beckett's chosen so far.”

Sounds to us like Beckett will spend at least the first part of Season 6 torn between her old life in the Big Apple and her new existence in D.C. We just hope she remembers that her heart belongs to Castle!
