Two-part episodes are somewhat of a television tradition, and every season, ABC’s Castle has at least one two-parter that leaves us sweating and shaking because we’re in withdrawal all week. Last season, the two-part episode took us to the City of Lights as Castle (Nathan Fillion) ventured to Paris to rescue his daughter, Alexis (Molly Quinn), after she was kidnapped.

To say that fans have grown accustomed to the crime drama’s two-parters — which usually air during February Sweeps — is an understatement, especially given the fact that they are often some of the season’s best installments. “Setup” and “Countdown,” anyone?

Sadly, showrunner Andrew Marlowe seems ambivalent about having a two-part episode in Season 6. He explains to TVLine, “If we have a compelling enough reason to do it, we might. But there are other really interesting ideas that we have on the drawing board for February that may be as fun as a two-parter, yet different.”

If Andrew tells us he’s got something just as enticing, then we’re all ears. Plus, just because the season may be missing an official two-part episode, that doesn’t mean there will be any shortage of cliffhangers ahead. In fact, the Season 6 premiere ends with quite the nail biter that carries over into the next episode!
