Blood! Guts! Guns! Cuts!
OK, so we’re actually just quoting old Eminem song up there, but Monday night’s “Kill Shot” did include all of the above. (Not so surprisingly either, ‘cause when you’ve got a sniper on the loose, things are bound to get a little cray, areweright?)
Check out the top gasp-inducing moments from Castle Season 4, Episode 9, “Kill Shot,” below.
4. Gates Listens to Castle!
3. Esposito Shoots Down a Sniper!
Not only was Espo able to help ease Beckett’s emotional scars (by reassuring her the man behind the gun isn’t some all-powerful god and urging her to touch the very gun that put a bullet through her chest) he also stopped her from acquiring any new physical ones. He saved her life!
Now, we’re not saying Beckett’s idea to connect with the sniper and persuade him to put down the rifle wasn’t ingenious, but this particular “damaged” man clearly wasn’t falling for her “Oh, But I Understand You” spiel and for a minute there we were pretty damn scared for her life.
Then BAM! Thanks to Beckett radio-ing in her position, Esposito found the room she was in and gunned down the sniper from the next building over.
It’s not like we thought Beckett was gonna die or anything, but the fact that a trained sniper came to her rescue is pretty symbolic, don’t you think?
2. Beckett Says She's Ready for a Relationship!
Is anybody else not in love with Beckett’s scenes with her therapist? No? Exactly. And the final scene of “Kill Shot” showed us exactly why Beck’s therapy sessions are so important to the show and to the development of her character.
Kate finally admitted she’s let her mother’s murder define her (OMG, yes!) and that she’s willing to let it go so she can move on to bigger and better things. Like, you know, a relationship with Rick Castle.
What’s that? The clouds parting and angels singing? Uh-huh.
1. No ''Cuffed'' Preview?
We were deeply saddened that Castle execs didn’t air the promo for next week’s episode, “Cuffed.” Good thing we’ve got these revealing behind-the-scenes photos to hold us over.
