Our friends over at CastleTV.net were fortunate enough to attend the Nerdist Writer’s Panel at Meltdown Comics, featuring Castle's real-life partners in crime, Terri Miller and Andrew Marlowe, on April 1 in Los Angeles.

They dished on the experience in a detailed blog post, revealing some cool behind-the-scenes secrets about our favorite show.

One interesting tidbit is that Castle almost fell victim to the Writers Guild of America strike, which ended in February 2008 after about three months of protest.

"According to Andrew, the show was originally picked up by ABC, the network. Then the strike happened and it was dropped from development by the network, but kept by the production arm of ABC Studios," the author of the post reports.

"When the strike was over, Castle was again picked up by the network and the rest is history."

The conversation naturally turned to Castle and Beckett's ever-evolving relationship — a topic those of us in the Castle fandom can't get seem to get enough of.

When host Ben Blacker asked if their romance is as present in the writer's rooms as it is in the social media universe, Andrew surprised everyone by answering in the negative.

“We know where it’s going," he explained.

And with that, our faith has been restored!
