Castle Executive Producer Laurie Zaks Gets New ABC Gig!

Congratulations are in order for Castle's beloved executive producer Laurie Zaks! Last night, Deadline revealed that Zaks just signed her first overall deal with ABC Studios to launch a new production company, Second Season.

Second Season — named for what all TV producers strive for when launching a series — will develop new projects for the network.

“The second season is spring which is time for renewal," Zaks explained. "This is new for me, and I love that spiritual meaning."

We couldn't be more thrilled for her new endeavor, but like most die-hard Castle fans, we're curious to know what it means for our favorite crime procedural. According to Deadline, Zaks will still play an integral role in the development of the show as it heads into is fifth season, but her day-to-day involvement will be scaled back significantly.

“I have to find the next Castle,” she said. And we have no doubt she will.
