Bad news, Castle fans. The cast of ABC's hit crime dramedy will not be in attendance at this year's San Diego Comic-Con, according to a new report from TV Line.

We're obviously shocked at the news, as Castle has been a Comic-Con staple and fan favorite for the past couple of years. Plus, we can't think of a single television actor who embodies the spirit and culture of Comic-Con more than "Geek God" Nathan Fillion.

Unfortunately, the network has yet to release any kind of official statement explaining the show's absence. All we know for sure — per writer Terri Miller's tweet late last night — is that ABC did not invite Castle to return because they have "new shows [to] put forward now.”

Disappointing as it is, Terri urges Castle fans to stay positive: "My advice ‪#Castle‬ lovers... Focus on what is rather than on what isn't. Story is the flag we wave. Quality is our country."

And on the upside, Nathan is still expected to make an appearance on his own, and Molly Quinn has tweeted about working on this year's costume.

While the rest of the cast will certainly be missed, we'll take what we can get. And we'll keep waving our Castle flag high!
