Castle Ratings Drop Slightly Without Dancing With the Stars Lead-In

We wish we could say that Castle's awesome mid-season finale, “Cuffed,” knocked Hawaii Five-0 out of the water, but sadly that's not quite how it went down. Ratings took a slight nosedive this week, down 13 percent to 2.0.

Why the sudden drop? According to Zap2It, Castle lost a chunk of its audience after the Dancing With the Stars finale.

And as “Cuffed” writer Terri Miller noted, the week-long break between new episodes couldn’t have helped, either. “Last night's ratings were what I was talking about when I said the episode was ‘widowed’ Happened to 310 last year too,” she tweeted.

Still, our favorite show managed to finish second in its timeslot above Rock Center With Brian Williams.

Don't worry, Castle fans. A 2.0 is still a solid rating, and we can come back even stronger in 2012 when Season 4 returns with Episode 11, "Till Death Do Us Part."
