Castle Recasts the Mayor! Derek Webster Takes Over Role

An old face is set to return to Castle in an upcoming episode. Or more like a new old face.
TV Line reports that Castle has recast the role of New York City Mayor Robert Weldon. Derek Webster (Damages, Mental) will take over for Joseph C. Phillips (General Hospital).
As we reported earlier, Episode 12, "Dial M for Mayor," features Weldon (who hasn't been seen since Season 1) in a big way, when a murdered woman is found to have ties to his administration. Turns out Castle's buddy has a naughty habit of calling a kinky phone sex line!
And the "pivotal backstory" TV Line teases has got to be a juicy flashback scene, right? Maybe Castle in his most flirty, womanizing days? Bring it on!
