After a long summer hiatus, Castle finally returned to our TV screens tonight with the much-hyped Season 5 premiere, "After the Storm."

For many Castle and Beckett fans, tonight's episode delivered in a big way — it was dramatic, intense, funny, and oh-so-sexy. After four seasons of will-they-or-won't-they tension between mystery author Rick Castle and his detective muse Kate Beckett, the star-crossed pair finally did … and it was good!

While Castle and Beckett dove headfirst into a new chapter, another one was closed. Kate finally discovered the dragon behind her mother's murder, and after a powerful and heart-wrenching confrontation with Senator Bracken, she walked away. Now that Beckett is free from the chains of her mom's case (for now, anyway), it feels like the possibilities are endless. It's a new beginning for Castle, and we can't wait to see what happens next.

Most fans seem to be on board with the show's new direction, but still, some remain skeptical of Castle's ability to break the so-called Moonlighting curse — meaning, the idea that a show will lose its luster once you give an audience everything it wants.

But tonight's episode didn't give its audience everything. Yes, Castle and Beckett had sex, but it was only a small taste of what's to come. Although we lament the fact that we weren't privy to Castle and Beckett's first love-making session (or second or third), we understand why it was kept behind closed doors. The brilliance of a show like Castle is its ability to leave you hungry for more — and after tonight, we are starving for more Caskett!
