Castle Season 5 Casting: Nathan Fillion's One Life to Live Predecessor to Play [Spoiler]

Just when we thought Castle Season 5, Episode 7: "The Final Frontier" couldn't get any more meta (yes, we just went there), we learned that Chris McKenna — also known as the second Joey Buchanan on One Life to Live just before Nathan Fillion, who starred on the soap from 1994 – 1997 — will join the cast.

But that's not the only guest star who'll have you seeing double in this show-within-a-show episode.

Ed Quinn will portray an actor best known for his role as Captain Max Richards on a series called Nebula 9 — an obvious homage to Nathan's stint as Firefly's beloved Captain Mal Reynolds.

According to TVLine, Nathan's soap opera doppelganger will play a Nebula 9 superfan named Simon Wesport, who may be romantically involved with the victim — which means that all three “Nathan Fillions” will be roaming the halls of a Comic-Con-esque sci-fi convention.

And our minds are officially blown.
