After last week’s oh-so-serious Castle episode, we could all use a healthy dose of lightheartedness in our lives. And with tonight’s episode centered squarely around a murder at a sci-fi convention, we’re sure your inner geek will be beaming with delight.
Check out our wish list for Castle Season 5, Episode 6: “The Final Frontier.”
3. The 12th Reenacting The Murder Scene in Full Costume!
In Monday’s all new episode, “The Final Frontier,” Castle and Beckett attempt to solve the case of the organizer for the “Nebula 9 Fan Experience.” Since no one’s off limits and everyone’s a suspect, sometimes there’s only one way to really think like a killer, and that’s to role play it out.
Look, they already have the spaceship. All they need now are the costumes and makeup. With all the fandomonium going on at the convention, our favorite precinct shouldn’t have any trouble getting their hands on a few choice outfits. Yep, even one for you, Esposito.
2. Sci-Fi Celebrity Cameos!
Comic-Con type conventions are notorious for bringing out surprise appearances from your favorite comics and sci-fi shows. So naturally, this has to happen. We can’t bear to believe Castle boss Andrew Marlow would put together this epic nerd herd of an episode without sneaking in a few iconic sci-fi geniuses from the past.
So far, we know this ep was directed by Star Trek alum Jonathan Frakes. And another sneak peek features Armin Shimerman of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Buffy fame. At this point, it’s just a matter of who else is showing up to the party.
1. The Reappearance of Beckett’s Nebula 9 Outfit For Castle!
In this sneak peek (actually, almost all of the sneak peeks), we find out just how much of a fangirl Kate Beckett was (and clearly, still is) for the short-lived sci-fi show Nebula 9 during her freshman year at Stanford. She might be trying to hide that deep devotion from Castle, but it’s not working so much. And we love it.
But what we would adore even more is for KBecks to bust out her Lt. Chloe costume as a surprise to Castle. A true fan wouldn’t throw out something so vital, so it’s just a matter of retrieving it from the back of her closet. We know it’s in there, Kate. And we think Castle desperately wants to see it.
