So far, Castle Season 5 has felt like a series of Castle and Beckett-centric divertissements — and we're certainly not complaining. After four years of unresolved sexual tension, these two deserve some uninterrupted time to work through their relationship issues and give each other sensual hand massages. They owe it to each other — and to us!
But don't get too cozy with all these cute Caskett-focused episodes. According to Castle creator Andrew Marlowe, our favorite show will up the drama ante during February sweeps when it revisits a few forgotten storylines, one in particular that's been on the backburner since the Season 5 premiere.
Not only will the crime procedural revisit one of Season 4's biggest cliffhangers, Rick Castle's mysterious father and his possible link to the CIA, but there'll also be some development with the infamous Johanna Beckett case.
"Senator Bracken (Jack Coleman), who is behind the murder of Beckett's mother, returns," reports TV Guide, adding that he may be connected to another high-profile killing. Does that mean Beckett will finally get the chance to avenge her mom's tragic death? Maybe, teases Marlowe.
"Beckett believes this is her opportunity to nail him once and for all," he told the site.
The last time we saw the slimy senator, he reminded Beckett that he holds the power. Kate took the moral high ground and spared Bracken his life — in exchange for her and her loved ones' safety — knowing full well that justice will prevail eventually. Whether it'll happen during February sweeps, that remains a mystery.
Do you think Beckett will bring Bracken down this season, or will this battle carry on indefinitely? Weigh in below!
