Kate Beckett has been wrapped up in her mother's unsolved murder ever since she joined the police force. Although she seemed ready to throw in the towel for love in Castle's Season 4 finale, new details from show creator Andrew Marlowe suggest that the headstrong detective will remain in pursuit of the infamous Dragon.

Enter: Heroes' alum Jack Coleman, who's set to play a U.S. Senator with "compelling information" about Johanna Beckett's case. According to the Castle bossman himself, Beckett will reach out to this mysterious Congressman throughout Season 5.

But why is Beckett backtracking? When she arrived sopping wet and unabashed at Castle's loft in the finale, she told the mystery writer that Cole Maddox got away and she didn't care. She just wanted Rick.

Apparently, this Senator guy has some unsettling intel that Beckett just can't ignore. And even as she closes the case, this information will have a lasting effect.

"It's going to spin our characters in a different emotional direction," Marlowe says. "Once Beckett has that knowledge, what's she going to do with it and who is she going to become?"

Doesn't sound like our darling detective will be at peace any time soon.
