Castle Spoiler: Get Ready for a New Side of Captain Gates in Season 4, Episode 12: "Dial M For Mayor"

We haven’t seen hard-nosed Captain Victoria “Iron” Gates (Penny Johnson Jerald) in a hot minute, but according to a new blurb in the latest TV Guide, when she returns, the precinct’s icy boss lady might not be so stone cold after all.

In Season 4, Episode 12, “Dial M for Mayor,” Penny Johnson Jerald revealed to the magazine that we’ll see the softer side of Gates when she explains some pertinent family history to Beckett.

“You understand more why she’s a police officer,” Jerald said.

During the same ep, the crime writer’s place at the precinct is put in jeopardy when his good pal Mayor Weldon becomes suspect numero uno in a murder case. “If the mayor’s ousted, it’s up to Gates to decide if Castle can stay,” Jerald says.

We can only hope her newfound sensitivity will spill over into her decision!
