Castle’s cast and crew celebrated the wrap of the show’s 100th episode on Wednesday, February 27, and we’re learning that this episode is going to be a doozy.
Andrew Marlowe teased earlier this month that the milestone episode will hold a “charming surprise” that will play with Castle and Beckett’s relationship. And after scouring the interwebs for more info, we got a good look at the centerpiece cake from Wednesday night’s festivities, which appears to feature two pages of the script from the 100th episode. Cha-ching!
While we couldn’t make out every line, we did get some information: Martha takes a trip that coincides with Rick’s birthday, and Rick is somehow injured and has to stay home. There's also mention of him taking painkillers and despising the boredom of being alone. But that’s not all!
TVLine gave a few more hints on the episode, titled “The Lives of Others,” airing on April 1:
“I’ve got two words for you, and one of them’s '*e*r' and the other one’s '*i*do*,'" teased Michael Ausiello. He also noted that “Birthday wishes don’t mean anything unless they come with a gift.”
Could it be that the episode will follow in footsteps of Alfred Hitchcock’s classic Rear Window? It definitely seems like it. As for the birthday hint — isn’t April 1 Castle’s birthday? A bored, injured Castle stuck at home with nothing better to do than look into the lives of neighbors from his window? Can’t you just imagine the trouble he’ll get into? We definitely can’t wait to see how everything unfolds!
Castle’s 100th episode, “The Lives of Others,” is slated to air Monday, April 1, 2013 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC. Will you tune in? Tell us below!
