For four long seasons, the unsolved murder of Johanna Beckett has hovered over the 12th precinct like a big, black cloud. Lives were lost, relationships were ruined, and, worst of all, our beloved Castle and Beckett were often caught in the crosshairs.

But now that the writer and his detective muse have risen above it (and hopped into the sack!), will the book on Castle's most important case finally be closed?

Yes, according to show creator Andrew Marlowe, and it'll happen sooner than you think.

How soon, you ask? "In the premiere!" TV Guide's William Keck clarified last night on Twitter.

Although it will lead to an "explosive confrontation," Kate will still get the closure she deserves after all these years — which hopefully means a return to the fun storytelling that made us fall in love with Castle in the first place.

The only thing that could make this Season 5 premiere any better? Castle and Beckett waking up in each other's arms. Oh, wait …
