Castle Stages Another Firefly Reunion: Gina Torres Set to Guest Star!

Nathan Fillion is slipping back into his brown coat for at least one more episode of Castle. When Season 5 returns in the spring, his Firefly co-star Gina Torres will help her former captain on board a new vessel: a reality show set.

According to TVLine, Gina — who played Captain Mal’s right-hand woman, Zoë, on the short-lived sci-fi series — will play “Samantha Foster, a successful fashion mogul who comes off as ruthless and fierce on a Real Housewives-esque reality show.” However, the site adds, “She may be even more devious when the cameras aren’t rolling.”

We’re not-so-secretly hoping that Samantha will sternly yell, “Sir!” at Rick during her episode — Season 5, Episode 14: “Reality Star Struck,” which may air during February sweeps — and knowing Nathan, he’ll figure out a way to work in a few Firefly nods throughout the hour. When Adam Baldwin guest starred in April 2012, there was a shared brown coat, and the two even mirrored a few scenes from the sci-fi show.
