The stars of Castle weren't always the stars of Castle, and as a reminder of how much work it takes to become a star (and maybe just to giggle a little bit), we're instating something we like to call Flashback Fridays.
Basically, it involves a clip that showcases one of the earlier acting performances of one of our beloved Castle-ers. First up, Nathan Fillion!
Nate's soap opera past is no secret, but sometimes it's good to look at a little hard evidence. In this case, it's a two-minute clip from a 1994 episode of One Life to Live, with Nathan in the role of Joey Buchanan. It might be easier to make a list of things we don't love about this video, because that list would have zero things on it. But we're not in this to take the easy way out, so here are a few bullet points of awesomeness:
— The strangely ominous voiceover introducing Nathan as the character, which is followed by an immediate fade out.
— The vest.
— Joey Buchanan's belief that a semester in Italy has made him a native of the country. (We all know that guy.)
— The fact that we haven't a blessed clue what's happening with the plot and are totally OK with it. Someone's in jail? Multiple people?
— The hair that ever-so-sexily falls in Nathan's face at 1:44.
— The "Italian" music playing over the last twenty seconds of the scene, originally made popular in Epcot Center.
