Art insurance investigator Serena Kaye proved a “valuable asset” on Monday night’s Castle, but did the bodacious blonde do more than help solve the case of the elusive art gallery murder?

We winced watching Serena and Castle’s flirtation escalate. Our hearts went out to Beckett, especially as she witnessed the man she loves (but won’t admit to loving!) seemingly fall for someone else.

Sure, in the end Castle chose Beckett (or maybe it was more like Serena chose Beckett?). But the detective darling’s uncharacteristic jealous outbursts have us thinking that maybe Serena’s presence was a good thing for Caskett.

What do you think, Castle fans? Was the former “art retriever” a sign to Beckett that she needs to step her game up (and maybe even — gasp! — admit she heard Castle’s “I love you”?) Or will Kate go right back to denying her feelings once the saucy ex-con sashays her way out of the precinct?
