Kate Beckett's hair has long been the subject of public scrutiny, and not without reason.

Remember back in Season 1 when she made her TV debut with a butch, suburban mom cut? Yeah, not her best look.

We can't be too hard on the detective, though, because her sense of style has certainly come a long way. While she hasn't ditched the conservative turtlenecks and ill-fitting vests (c'mon, Lanie, can't you help a sista out?!), she has experimented with more flattering haircuts.

This season, Miss Beckett looks more relaxed, feminine, and — dare we say? — romantic compared to last season. Just look at those soft, voluminous tendrils, not to mention the golden, sun-kissed highlights.

Beckett's practically a new woman, which makes us wonder — did Castle's three little words inspire a trip to the salon?

Whatever the reason, we think Beckett's hair looks bangin'. Do you agree, Castle fans?
