Nathan Fillion and Adam Baldwin Reunite on Castle Set

When guest star Adam Baldwin joins Nathan Fillion on an upcoming episode of Castle, we'll see the former Firefly co-stars in a completely new light.

According to Adam, Nathan, who played Captain Mal Reynolds on the short-lived sci-fi drama, is the "dumb one" this time. Oh, how the tables have turned!

"Yup," Nathan reaffirms. "Adam's in control, pulling the strings and I'm tagging along in the dark."

So, if Adam's character is nothing like his Firefly counterpart, simple-minded muscle man Jayne Cobb, what's his deal? According to TV Guide, he plays a rough and tumble detective named Ethan Slaughter, whom Castle shadows after jumping ship (see what we did there, Firefly fans?) while on a temporary "break" from Beckett.

TV Line also reports that Slaughter puts Castle in harm's way when he exposes him to a "dirtier side" of the law — a side that gives him a "new, dangerous perspective on future cases."

Sounds like someone (ahem, Kate Beckett) will be running to the mystery writer's rescue. Time to kiss and make up, guys.
