Should Castle Have Dropped Beckett's Hand in Castle Season 4, Episode 13: "An Embarrassment of Bitches"?
The plethora of female dogs on Monday’s Castle weren’t the only B-words on Season 4, Episode 13, “An Embarrassment of Bitches.” We also found it to be quite a you-know-what that Castle, after lovingly caressing Beckett’s tender hand, pulled away and skedaddled off.
Not gonna lie, we were uber-excited when we first laid eyes on the sneak peek of this scene, and we were crossing our fingers something grander would happen between them after the promo cut off.
Unfortunately, the TV gods were not on our side. Instead of a passionate — well, anything — happening after Castle’s caress, Beckett just awkwardly squeaks out a “Castle,” and he drops her hand and turns away.
“Yeah, you get it,” he responds. But, but! Aw. C’mon. Way to dangle that carrot, Castle producers! Le sigh.
In the show’s defense, we understand a few things prevented the sensual hand massage from going any further: 1) Beckett seems super uncomfortable, and calls him “Castle,” not Rick, in a way that feels painfully awkward, and 2) Castle knows if he pursues the detective without her feeling “ready,” she’ll feel forced and will run far, far, away. And that wouldn’t be good for anybody.
But still, where's all the passion? Why — after four long years — can’t these two grown *ss adults get it together and make some kind of move on one another (that’s not forced by a life-threatening situation)? Seriously. Why?!
Now that is really a b*tch.
