As TV addicts, we love when our fave shows tweak our other favorite shows, and it sounds like our fave crime dramedy Castle is about to roast — and possibly redeem — reality TV princess, Kim Kardashian.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock (without Internet or cable), you know about Kim Kardashian’s recent divorce from NBA player Kris Humphries after only 72 days of not-so-wedded-bliss.
Now, TV Guide says Castle is looking for a “big name guest star” to come on board in coming months to play Kay Cappuccio (see what they did there, “Kay”?), a reality TV star “who has achieved significant fame and fortune without possessing any discernible skill or talent” and whose “knockout body have made her a favorite of tabloids and gossip sites the world over — one of which has placed a huge bounty on her booty.” (Read: They’re offering her oodles of cash for naked photoz!)
Sounds like just like Kim, right? However, this is where the critics differ. The last sentence of the character description reads, “Kay both relishes this spotlight and at the same time feels like a prisoner of her own celebrity lifestyle — the result is a woman who is more complex than she might at first seem.”
While we don’t doubt Kim probably feels a little trapped by her lifestyle, nobody’s got a gun to her head making her do what she does. (Plus, we don’t know if we’d ever call Kimmy K, uh, “complex.”)
Still, we think it’s kinda cute Castle writers have a soft spot for reality TV stars and all their ridiculous glory.
In fact, the character might even make Kim seem more likable and less misunderstood. That is, as long as she doesn’t try out for the role herself. That might send the wrong message.
