What happens when you throw an attractive blonde into the 12th precinct? Emotions go haywire!
Thankfully, all the random makeout sessions and not-so-playful jabs brought our detective duo even closer. Sometime’s all you need to realize what you have is the threat of it going away.
Check out our top Caskett moments from Season 4, Episode 5 “Eye of the Beholder”:
1. Beckett Posed Nude!
Beckett is a total flirt nowadays! When she and Castle are checking out a sculpture made entirely of old TVs, the cop makes a comment about how sometimes you don’t need to understand what art is about; that sometimes it’s just art.
Castle, impressed with Becks “existential” theory, asks our detective darling if she learned that in art class in college.
But oh, no. Beckett smirks, and replies that the closest she ever came to an art class was when she posed for one. “Without a stitch,” she says.
Cue Castle imagining Beckett in the buff. Oh, yeah.
Wow! Beckett is so relaxed with Rick these days. If only she’d realize ...
2. Castle Has Beckett's Trust
It’s always adorb when Castle and Beckett bounce ideas off each other in rapid-fire succession. Unfortunately, this time, their art-thief-turned-killer theorizing sesh is interrupted by Serena Kaye. Still, the theorizing was cute!
Also adorb? Beckett follows up on Serena’s theory, even though she clearly doesn’t believe in it. But Castle does — and that’s all that matters, so Beckett makes the call. We think that’s called trust.
Then, the flirting continues. Castle coyly says, “Now was that so hard?” and Beckett smirks again.
Get your mind out of the gutter, girl! (On second thought, keep it there. We kinda like where this could lead.)
3. Beckett Almost Reveals All to Her Therapist
Can we just talk about how Beckett’s therapist is absolutely amazing and always knows what to say? We love that he asked her, "Kate, what are you really scared of? That he won't wait for you? Or that he will?”
We’re not sure which she is more afraid of (or if she’s even sure), but now we know she’s thinking about it!
4. Kate Gets Jealous
Thanks to Serena and Castle’s in-your-face flirtation, Beckett is absolutely seething with jealousy. Yup, our classic workaholic can barely keep her head on the case.
Instead, she’s hyper-focused on Serena and Castle’s every move and it couldn’t be more obvious. She’s jealous when they go to the bar together, she’s jealous when Castle tries to tag along with her again, she’s jealous when she catches the duo stealing sideways glances at each other (that’s so Caskett’s thing!) and she’s REALLY jealous when Castle plants that big, sloppy wet one on Serena right in front of her (so much so that she brings it up a total of like, 3 more times throughout the episode).
While we should probably feel her pain (and we do, a little), we also can’t help but find joy in the fact that Kate Beckett is finally showing her feelings for Rick Castle.
Maybe it’s really time to re-think having that convo about the shooting, Beckett. You made your bed, so now what are you gonna do? You can’t keep pretending forever, or the next Serena Kaye might be the one who steals Castle away. For good.
5. Castle and Beckett Go on a Date (Sorta)
At episode’s end, Castle, gentleman that he is, brings both Serena and Beckett (who have gotten rather chummy by this point, we might add) cups of coffee.
Beckett, having almost given up and accepted Castle/Serena’s little love affair (say what?!), excuses herself. But Serena doesn’t pounce on Castle like she could. Instead, she says she doesn’t take things that belong to someone else and returns to her hotel room, alone.
Well, gee. Guess there is some good in that girl after all.
Beckett is shocked to see Castle left behind (really?), but slowly a smile starts to form on her face as she realizes she’s won — at least this time. So, what better way to celebrate Beckett’s triumph over the art insurance investigator than with a burger and fries with her main man, Castle? Exactly.
Does it count as a date if lunch is on the precinct’s tab? We don’t know, but we’ll take what we can get.
