It makes sense that Stana Katic would play a TV character who's head-over-heels for a best-selling author. In real life, the 34-year-old actress is a lover of the written word, and she recently dished to American Way magazine on her current bedside reads.
Among Stana's diverse list is Lollipop Lounge: Memoirs of a Rock & Roll Refugee, which helped her get a better understanding of '60s rocker Genya Raven, whom she portrayed in the upcoming film CBGB.
"After I read the book, I met her, and it was, like, ‘Wow, you broke down all these doors and did all this stuff way before Madonna or Lady Gaga or even Patti Smith,'" Stana gushed. "She said, 'Yeah, but they don’t know who I am. I never had time to be famous. I was too busy breaking all the rules.'"
Perhaps Stana will pepper Kate Beckett with some of Genya's rebellious traits this season on Castle. Wouldn't it be nice to see the dogmatic detective bend the rules with a certain ruggedly handsome mystery writer?
