Which Character Had the Best 1940s Persona on Castle Season 4, Episode 14: "The Blue Butterfly"?

Beckett, Esposito, and Ryan — along with club owner Tom Dempsey — eye Castle at the bar in Season 4, Episode 14.

In last night's film noir flashback episode of Castle, Rick pulls a Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz and envisions everyone from his present-day life as characters in his fantastical daydream.

While we're partial to Stana Katic and Nathan Fillion's portrayal of 1940s Castle and Beckett, we can't ignore the stellar performances given by the supporting cast members. (Seamus Dever's Irish accent? Molly Quinn's Southern drawl? Impressive stuff, y'all!)

Here's quick rundown of each Castle character and his or her corresponding 1940s persona:

Rick Castle: Detective Joe Flynn, a strapping private eye with a penchant for day drinking, blues music, and Vera Mulqueen.

Kate Beckett: Vera Mulqueen, a beautiful cigarette girl-turned-gangster's moll who falls for a private dick.

Lanie Parish: Betsy Sinclair, the Penny Baker Club's sassy songbird who treats us to a soulful rendition of Billie Holiday's "Comes Love."

Detective Ryan: An Irish gangster who takes out the trash for club owner Tom Dempsey.

Detective Esposito: A Cuban thug who takes out the trash for club owner Tom Dempsey.

Alexis Castle: Sally Scoffield, the sweet-talking, gun-wielding daughter of Dempsey’s previous girlfriend Priscilla, who Dempsey dumped for Vera.

Martha Rodgers: Joe Flynn's level-headed and loyal secretary.

Which 1940s Castle character was the cream in your coffee?
