Tonight's episode of Castle was all about the secrets we keep — which were numerous in the case of deceased playboy Michael Bailey. The news of Jenny's dalliance with Bailey (or is it Hendricks?), which took place just after Jenny and Ryan started dating, is proof that we all have a skeleton or two in our closets.

But as Detective Ryan demonstrates, the success of a relationship hinges not on the secrets we hide, but how we behave once the truth is revealed. Jenny is forthcoming about the fling, and in turn, Ryan brushes if off without the slightest hesitation.

And we're glad he does — not only because we'd be heartbroken if they had called off the wedding, but also because Castle and Beckett could really benefit from seeing a happy couple put the past behind to make way for the future.

We know that Castle and Beckett are both keeping big, game-changing secrets from each other, but it's obvious that neither is ready to hear the truth, especially after their "numbers" talk. They have a long way to go before they can speak candidly without fear of judgment or rejection.

That being said, we have hope. Maybe romance was in the air in our living rooms at home, but we couldn't help but think that final scene between the writer and his muse is a sign of things to come.

"Well, who knows, Castle? Maybe third time's a charm," Beckett says as the church bells begin to chime. "Yeah, could be," Castle grins.
