Tamala Jones began her career with a guest appearance on the show California Dreams. The California girl could have stopped right there, having achieved what was our fantasy every Saturday morning from 1992 to 1996, but the actress went on to appear in other series — including The Parent 'Hood, Veronica's Closet, Malcolm & Eddie, My Name Is Earl, and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. She also can be seen in films such as The Wood, Booty Call, Kingdom Come, The Brothers, and Two Can Play That Game. She currently portrays medical examiner Lanie Parish on Castle.
