Martha Rodgers

Martha Rodgers is Richard Castle's mother and an actress. She's the kind of lady who goes to her local Rite Aid wearing a lime green skirt suit and a zebra-print scarf to buy condoms and a travel toothbrush. In other words, she's an inspiration. She lives with her son and granddaughter, Alexis, creating a strange Three's Company scenario in which she and Castle both play the part of Jack Tripper. Like Alexis, Martha has a knack for saying something to Castle — related to her parallel storyline — that suddenly leads him to the killer. It's been estimated (by us) that she has solved the remaining 15 percent of homicide cases her granddaughter couldn't crack.
